​Jo Maria is a graduate of the Victorian College of the Arts (VCA) who taught music in schools all around Melbourne in the 1980's.
Jo says...."then I became mentally unwell, so I had to give up my music.."
In 2017, Jo started to write her own music, using six string ,twelve string and bass guitar. Over the time of the Corona virus, Jo has taught herself the ukulele. 
​Jo says ..." the song 'A Beautiful Day' came about after a long, cold winter and the sun was peeping through the trees, with birds singing. I wrote this song about that beautiful sunny day..."
In her Corona Lockdown song, Jo gives an insight into some of the ways the lockdown has affected her day to day living.
Jo's song 'Words' was based on a message delivered by her friend, Lieutenant Phuong Reynolds from the Salvation Army.
